Flexible Thinking
Why This Course?
Simple but effective models of the world and how it functions are known as mental models. We always utilize a mental model when we apply ideas like the scientific method, economies of scale, margin of safety, first principles, diminishing returns, and so on. This course investigates the systematic combination and application of various models.
Most people base their entire lives on a small number of mental models. However, if the situation shifts, these operational beliefs might become invalid. We need to put together a "latticework" of connected models from a range of fields, including psychology, physics, statistics, and even art history, in order to be flexible and effective in any current or future setting.
