Course Description

For the majority of organizations, generating long-term value through people is strategically important. Today's demands, like as globalization, the quick evolution of technology and societal standards, and the growing importance of CSR, make it essential to approach human resources from a strategic standpoint. The course opens with a brief discussion of the fundamentals of human resource management, employee/labor relations, leadership and talent management, and organizational culture. This is followed by an examination of the fundamentals of strategy, including both business and corporate strategy, and finally the relationship between strategy and human resource management. Along with current topics like international HRM, managing platform economy workers, evolving issues in employee/industrial relations, HR analytics, and millennial workers, the course also covers general management topics that are pertinent for SHRM.
